Yellow is usually thought to be a color for spring and summer weddings , but really yellow can be used all year round. Yellow wedding decorations are warm, cheerful and can even be very sophisticated and rich. If you love the idea of a yellow themed wedding, read on for some yellow wedding decoration tips.
Mix and Match
One nice thing about yellow is that it can go with almost any other color. Think about how often you see yellow in nature…a lot, right? You can pair various shades of yellow for different effects and moods. For elegance, use a shade of brown along with yellow.
For spring and summer, use yellow along with cream, white, light blues and purples, gentle greens and orange.

In the winter, yellow makes a perfect partner to deep blues and purples, teal, red, burgundy and emerald green.
If you want something really eye-catching and elegant? Black and gold go hand in hand for a stunning evening reception.
Your Choice of Flowers
There are far too many yellow flowers available to list, but some that work nicely for a bridal bouquet are yellow orchids, yellow roses, calla lilies, gerberas and sunflowers. You can opt for different shades of yellow in your bouquet, or combine yellow flowers with the complementary color purple, a neutral cream, or a contrasting orange.
Yellow Wedding Reception Decorations
Yellow is a very stimulating color, so yellow wedding decorations need to be kept simple and elegant. For centerpieces, a graceful glass bowl filled with lemons look and smell lovely. Or, press sliced lemons along the sides of a tall glass vase and set a small arrangement of flowers on top. Sprinkle freeze dried yellow rose petals on your tabletops, or add some elegant yellow candles.
Yellow lends itself well to themes. Sunflowers, for example, can be used in your bouquet, as decoration, and as your overall theme for the wedding. Give guests chocolate sunflowers or daisy mints, sunflower magnets or keychains, or a sunflower pot pen as a gift.
You can also incorporate bumble bees into your yellow theme, with little bee decorations in your flower arrangements, on your napkin rings, or little honey or mapel syrup pots as gifts.
Yellow wedding decorations can be whimsical, cheerful or sophisticated for any time of the year…it all depends on the look you want, and the colors you pair it with.
Tempt The Taste Buds
Don’t forget to work yellow into your menu as well, with a lemon cake, pineapple, or even edible gold leaf. Yellow is an imaginative color, so let yours go wild when you plan your yellow wedding decorations!
