A great way to define the theme of your wedding is with seasonal wedding decorations. You can choose colors that are symbolic of the season such as deep red, rich browns and orange for a fall wedding.
The season you are getting married can also play a part in the flowers that are available. This can determine the decorations that you can use. For instance, peonies are a popular flower that is available in spring and summer but you would not be able to use it if you are having an autumn or winter wedding.
Here are some ideas for weddings in different seasons.
Fall Wedding Decorations
The Fall or autumn is a great time to get married. I’ve noticed that more brides seem to be selecting this time of year. A popular way to incorporate fall seasonal wedding decorations is to use the leaf as a wedding theme. These can be used to decorate candles, wedding favors and table decorations. The favors in the photo are from Koyal.
You can incorporate Fall’s rich and vibrant colors into your wedding decorations such as tablecloths and wedding table stationery.
Winter Wedding Decorations
Silver, ice blue, sparkles and diamonds are commonly used themes for winter wedding decorations. You could also use the idea of a ‘winter wonderland’.
I’ve worked on a number of weddings that have taken place close to Christmas on the 27th and 28th of December. You can incorporate a Christmas theme if you are getting married at this time.
There are still plenty of flowers available that you can use to decorate a winter wedding. These include cymbidium orchids and amaryllis. Year round favorites such as roses, gerberas and carnations are also available.
Spring Wedding Decorations
Spring is the time of new beginnings and looking forward to the future. So what could be more natural as a theme to your wedding! Spring wedding decorations can include seasonal flowers such as tulips, daffodils and ranunculus.
Bright and clean color schemes such as yellow, red, white and green make great seasonal wedding decorations.
Summer Wedding Decorations
If you choose to get married in summer you have possibly the largest choice of decorations that you can use for your day. Nature is in full bloom and there is an abundance of flowers that you can use for your decorations.
You can incorporate a natural or outdoor theme into your wedding by using plants and cut flowers. If you are getting married in a wedding tent (marquee), create a romantic atmosphere by using tealights or wedding lanterns.
