Heart Shaped Favor Cookies
These cute little heart shaped favor cookies are ideal for home wedding decorations. You could also use them as bridal shower decorations if you are planning a romance or heart themed shower.
They are a perfect DIY favor project that you can make at home. The ingredients are inexpensive, easily available and they couldn’t be simpler to make. All you need are the ingredients listed, a large and a small heart shaped cutter and a rolling pin.

You might just want to think about enlisting some help if you need to bake a few of these, just make sure each baker has the same sized cutter and make of jam and then they will all come out looking the same.
Ingredients to make 6 cookies:
55g butter, softened
30g caster sugar
85g plain flour, sifted
¼ tsp vanilla extract
40g white chocolate
Icing sugar for dusting
2 tbsp of red jam

Beat together the sugar butter and vanilla. Sift in the flour. |

Kneed the dough together with your hands.Wrap in cling film or a plastic bag and chill in the fridge for 30 mins. |

Line a baking tray with greased proof paper.Roll out the dough until it’s approx 4mm thick.Cut out equal numbers of whole hearts and hollow hearts.Place them on the baking tray and put them in the freezer for 30 mins.
Preheat the oven to 180c/160c or gas4. Bake the shortbread until golden around the edges approx 10-15 mins. |

Remove from the oven and allow to cool on the baking tray for 5 mins.Gently lift off each heart and place on a cooling rack for 10 min. |

Melt the white chocolate.Allow to cool a little.Coat the back of the hollow heart with chocolate and stick it to the whole heart and leave to cool.Dust with icing sugar. |

Fill each heart with red jam. Perfect. |
