This diy favor box project is such an easy and fun thing to make, you really don’t need to be terribly creative to get great results. I just couldn’t wait to have a go with this inexpensive and easy to use button making kit.

Make Your Own Buttons

The lovely thing about making buttons is you use such a small amount of material so they don’t cost the earth. Follow my step-by-step button making instructions for your very own diy favor boxes.

Make Them In Your Color Theme

I’ve used a deep red velvet and rich orange silk which would be perfect for a fall wedding color theme. You can make them in any color or number of colors to fit with your very own wedding color theme.

You can see here how I have used the coordinating deep red velvet ribbon to tie the box. Make sure you pick one of your colors out and do the same.

You could make these diy favor boxes with vintage style buttons made out of faded floral fabric and pieces of lace. The possibilities are endless.

Be Unique, Add The Personal Touch

This diy project will give your favor boxes a truly unique touch that will be admired by all your wedding guests. Soon I’ll be showing you what a great accessory these buttons are on your bridal bouquet handles, so keep visiting for more great diy ideas.

  • I’m making this button with two types of fabric, the red velvet and the burnt orange silk. You only need a small amount of each.
  • Here you can see how I have frayed the edges of the silk to give it a lovely textured look. You do this by pulling threads off the side of the material.
